Psychedelics and Grilled Cheese: A Chilled Greese Story
Psychedelic experiences distort time, perception, amplify color, and create headspaces designed for expansion. At Chilled Greese, we believe this to be the core of what we aim to capture, and we do so through surreal art, trippy animations, and stoner comedy.

“In a way, life really does mimic art. Just like cartoons, there are weird characters everywhere doing oddly normal things. Like, what do you mean our new boss is an invisible man that makes Rap Music by day and runs a 24/7 TV channel by night?”
Before the Cheese
I smoked weed for the first time when I was 19. I was in college, and my best friend at the time JJ had a buddy who smoked, and he brought over a cart. I remember hitting it and thinking I was gonna choke to death from how hard I was coughing. JJ got the worst of it and threw up in the sink. Fast forward 45 minutes and I had won every match of Mario Kart, laughed harder than I ever had, and ate an entire loaf of Wonderbread and 13 individual bags of chips.
I did this for two reasons, one because I was simply curious. And two, because this really interesting fellow that same day asked me if I wanted to smoke after class. I refused initially, but went back the following day to tell the guy that I do, in fact smoke, and that we should hang out.
That man was Jackie Dwayne.
I have plenty of stories with this man. Tales of DMT, high stories ending in different states, numerous homeless people tales, and they may all seem random, but through it all, they had one constant: Chilled Greese. Long before any of us knew what that meant.
The Pieces of the Puzzle
I was in school at this point for Animation, so Jackie brought me to his friend Andy, who also was in school for animation, though he had dropped out (the first time) by this point. We exchanged ideas and became fast friends, and along with Jackie, started bouncing all kinds of silly ideas off of each other.
Our first project was “Ronnie’s,” a young adult cartoon centering around Drew and Jackie (not to be confused with Drew and Jackie from CG, of course), and took place in a small-town grocery store where the grocery items are constantly coming to life and causing trouble. This idea was limited by the items themselves. There is only so much you can do with canned food. So we settled on a Pawn Shop instead, and changed Ronnie, the mean old drunk who is constantly mad at Drew and Jackie for being stoned at work, into Ron, who is also stoned at work.
And from there, “Ron’s Pawn,” was born.
I took up a new job a few months into our new-found friendship; the same sandwich shop Andy and Jackie worked at. Together, we came up with “Awesome Possum,” which was directly inspired by Ninja Sex Party’s "Cool Patrol.” The song is about the Cool Patrol, a duo dedicated to making the little guy feel confident and stand up to bullies (but they do an absolutely terrible job at it). The original idea was Awesome and Possum were the “sexiest men in the universe,” and they would travel from galaxy to galaxy spreading love, love, and of course, psychedelic rock.
This actually went on for quite a long time. We even started a whole song dedicated to this project (see above).
The Cheese Drips
We only branded ourselves as a cartoon studio in the beginning. Nowadays, we identify as a “creative collective made of niche artists.” Our business is in concert visuals, commissions, events, music festivals, music production, anything that can possibly go into a TV show or behind a band on stage, we do it. Once we saw the opportunities opening up before us, we knew it was time to expand our presence.
We launched our Instagram in 2024 and our YouTube/TikTok in 2025. Quickly, we started getting feedback, and even more quickly than we thought possible, we began seeing real growth. Now, as of April 2026, we have 14k+ followers across our platforms, with tens of thousands of views and engagement. Our commune is growing, and we have YOU to thank for it (looking at you, you beautiful, dirty hippie)!
This community starts with a deep love of music first. We are Gizz heads, really everyone in Chilled Greese is. We were inspired by the reemergence of the bootleg culture started by the Grateful Dead and have felt nothing but love from the community ever since. Going to shows, meeting people, sharing art with like-minded people? To CG, to ME, this is what life is about: Making the most of the time we have. That is what we are doing, and we want you to come along!
We offer a wide range of products from concert visuals and festival animations, to marketing/consulting services to aid any projects you may be interested in! Or, to just take some weight off your plate if making your art AND running social media accounts at the same time proves difficult (trust, we know all about the grind).
Most of all though, we offer a foundation for counter cultural thought, which is sadly being increasingly censored and demonized today. If this sounds like something you want to see more of….. Contact us!
Network, share art, show us your projects, let us show you ours, help us build Chilled Greese into what it was meant to be:
A movement, not a company.
The Chilled Greese Movement
On top of all the growth we have been building, we have officially taken the next step…

Long live Chilled Greese! Keep spreading love! Get the word out! And most importantly, NEVER STOP CREATING!!!!!
Humans are unique in our creativity. To paraphrase Aristotle:
“what a shame it is for a man to live his entire life without seeing the limits by which his body is capable.”
Of course, Aristotle was speaking on physical health, and he’s right. Take care of your body.
But we see it a little differently.
To us, it applies to the mind, the body, and the spirit.
What a shame it would be to live your entire life and never see how far your consciousness can expand!
What a shame it would be to live your entire life without creating something, anything!
And so, I’ll leave you with this:
Art is the center of the universe. Everything, and nothing.
Peace and Love,
— Drew, Chilled Greese
